Mission Impact

GSI has cared for at-risk adults in Tarrant County since 1985 and today protects adults of all ages with programs ranging from financial literacy education to guardianship. Affirming the value of all human beings, we intentionally promote mutual respect, acceptance of others, and welcome our differences. GSI’s mission of providing guardianship and supports and services for at-risk adults in Tarrant County recognizes the equal rights of all individuals.

Join us for a "Texas-style" evening of fun while supporting a great cause! The Fiesta Under the Stars is GSI's premier annual event. Each year, we welcome advocates, community partners, sponsors, volunteers, and staff to educate attendees about the mission impact success and celebrate teamwork.

2026 Colleen Colton Awardee

GSI is proud to honor Chris Ponder as the 2026 Colleen Colton Awardee.

Through his leadership and service, he has strengthened protections for vulnerable adults and families across our community.

Chris is a partner at Kelly Hart & Hallman LLP and previously served as Judge of Tarrant County Probate Court No. 1 from 2019–2025, where he presided over cases involving estates, guardianships, and mental health commitments.

His continued commitment to the legal profession and our community includes leadership with the Tarrant County Probate Bar Association, the Texas A&M University School of Law Alumni Association, the St. Thomas More Society, and service on the Finance Committee for Catholic Charities Fort Worth. He is also a Fellow of both the Texas Bar Foundation and the Tarrant County Bar Foundation and serves as an adjunct professor at Texas A&M University School of Law.

We look forward to celebrating Chris and the mission of Guardianship Services, Inc. with our community throughout the year.
